I'm Kate, founder of Wild Card Hospitality Studio.

My career has taken me through quite a few different corners of the business world, including owning my own business, five years in real estate, human resources and hospitality management. It's a mix of experiences that has given me a pretty broad understanding of what goes into running a successful business.

I've managed people, handled the numbers, built processes, coordinated day to day operations and dealt with all the unexpected things that come with running a business. I've seen what works, what doesn't, and how easily things can become more complicated than they need to be.

Managing resort operations brought a lot of those experiences together. Working on the ground, particularly in remote locations, gave me a real appreciation for the amount of work that happens behind the scenes to create a great guest experience. It also showed me just how much the right systems and processes can improve efficiency, profitability and the experience for everyone involved.

That's what led me to start Wild Card. I wanted to bring everything I've learned into one place and help independent businesses work through their challenges, find better ways of doing things and make the most of what they have.
